The Fever of Revolution and the Pakistani Military..

Abu Hayyan Saeed

What common style, thought and psychology do the world’s great revolutions, whether French, Russian, American or British, have in common? The most profound, simple and strong answer to this question is found in the famous book “Anatomy of Revolution” by American historian Clarence Crane Brinton (1898~1968), which still serves as a foundation for students of politics, history and social science.

Crane Brinton ’s most important achievement is that he understood revolution as a scientific process rather than emotional slogans or romantic stories. He likens revolution to a “fever” – a fever that first begins with mild symptoms, then gains intensity, then a slightly dangerous phase comes, and finally society enters a new state.

This analogy makes the complex process of revolution surprisingly simple and understandable. But in our opinion, Brinton could not explain the fever of revolution in the end because Pakistani society is content with colorful revolutionary slogans and returns to its old ways. The main reason for this is that the revolution's momentum is given to them for a specific agenda. Those who raise the slogans of revolution cannot deliver anything themselves because the document of every kind of revolution in Pakistan is written in the GHQ and the implementation of the GHQ document is the only way to save the masters of the momentum. The Bhutto brand revolution of Islamic socialism, the nine-star system of Mustafa, the Islamic revolution of General Zia-ul-Haq, the revolution of Jamaat-e-Islami, the new social contract of Benazir Bhutto, the Al-Sharifiya's "Take loans, earn money, get loans forgiven" revolution was only for their family, the Zardari revolution, the General Musharraf's "Freedom Revolution", in addition to the small revolutions such as the Kayani Doctrine, the Raheel Sharif Doctrine and the most discussed Bajwa Doctrine and the recent field martial law revolution with constitutional amendments, will not be able to deliver anything in the atmosphere of fear and intimidation that has been implemented. Before this, the just revolution of the new Pakistan had almost ended due to its immense stupidities, incompetence, and the undiplomatic discourse and mysterious shadows of the revolutionary leader. But surprisingly, the vote for this just revolution is so strong that in the 27th constitutional amendment, the Sharif family was also demanding power until the day of judgment, despite the efforts of Field Marshal and Zardari, but could not get it.

According to Brinton, revolution does not arise from poverty but from injustice. When the common man feels that the state does not listen to his voice, justice is weak, and opportunities are only with the powerful classes — then the heat accumulates in society that forms the basis of a great storm.

Another unusual observation is that revolutions always originate from the intellectuals and the middle class, but are soon taken over by extremist elements. This stage is the most dangerous and uncertain in every revolution.

Eventually, the period of extremism gradually cools down and a new “system” is established — that is, the revolution changes from its extreme to a new normal.

This thought of Brinton also helps to understand today’s political situation in a surprising way.

When we say that we keep our mouths shut, our friends sarcastically say, “You keep your mouths shut, so when you open your mouths, what fire will you spit!” Hey sir, we only keep our mouths shut but our hands free because we have learned the lesson of keeping our mouths shut from this tradition...

Please see...

The Italian dictator Mussolini sentenced his three biggest opponents to death. In compliance with Mussolini's order, the three were taken to the gallows where there was a huge wooden plank

Along with which was a tower made of stones and on the tower a huge heavy stone was swinging on a wheel tied to a strong rope. When the rope was pulled from one side and released, the stone tied to the other side would fall down with force and crush anything that came down...!!!!

So these three were made to stand by this death board, among them...

One a Christian priest

The second a lawyer

And the third a philosopher

First of all, the priest was made to lie on this board at the exact spot where the stone would fall and his last wish was asked, then the priest said, I have strong faith in God, He will give death and give life. Just say nothing else.

After that, as soon as the rope was untied, the stone came down with full force and stopped above the priest's head. Seeing this, everyone was amazed and due to the priest's strong faith, his life was saved and the rope was pulled back...!!!!

After that, it was the lawyer's turn. When he was also hanged on the gallows and asked for his last wish, he said, "I am a lawyer of truth and justice always wins. I am innocent and here too my Lord will do justice."

After that, the rope was untied again, then the stone came down with full force and this time it stopped after reaching the lawyer's head. The executioners were amazed by this justice and the lawyer's life was also saved...!!!!

After that, it was the philosopher's turn. When he was hanged on the gallows and asked for his last wish, he said, "There is no God in this world and he does not save anyone. Neither God has saved the priest nor has his justice saved the lawyer. In fact, I have carefully seen that there is a knot in one place on the rope, which is causing an obstacle to the spinning top of the spinning wheel, due to which the rope does not fully unwind and the stone does not fall completely down."

After listening to the philosopher, everyone looked at the rope carefully and there was indeed a knot there. When he untied the knot and freed the rope, the stone fell with full force and crushed the philosopher's intelligent and intelligent head...!!!!

The lesson is that sometimes, even when you know a lot, keeping your mouth shut is considered wisdom.
